Everything else is billed at the hourly rate for the labour actually performed, plus parts — the ranges shown are typical for that type of job in Greater Montreal, for reference only. Drains Fix is not a plumber and does not set, charge, or collect the price for any plumbing work. Hourly totals are subject to:

Accepted methods vary by contractor. The most common in our network:
Correct. Calls to our coordination line are free, even for emergency dispatch. There is no charge until you approve a written estimate from the independent contractor on-site.
A handful of jobs — toilet installation, smart toilet installation, and tank water heater replacement — have a set, all-inclusive price that doesn't change. Everything else is billed at the hourly rate for the labour actually performed ($165/h for a licensed plumber, $115/h for an apprentice or handyman on work that doesn't require one), plus parts. The ranges shown for hourly work reflect a typical duration for that type of job; your contractor's on-site quote is what counts.
You decline it. No charge. You can also ask the contractor to explain the breakdown, or call us back and we'll coordinate a second independent contractor for a different opinion.
Drains Fix has a coordination arrangement with the independent contractor network, paid by the contractors — not by you. You pay the contractor only what's on their written estimate. Our coordination fee is never added to your invoice and is not your responsibility.
Yes — for example, the City of Montreal offers a substantial rebate for backwater valve installation. The dispatched contractor will tell you what applies in your borough and help with the paperwork.
No. Drains Fix does not charge customers anything. Any chargeable work and any invoice for that work comes directly from the independent licensed contractor.
The independent contractor can provide a detailed invoice and documentation typically accepted by Quebec insurers. We recommend confirming coverage with your insurer before work begins.
