The Sud-Ouest mixes some of the oldest row houses and plexes in Montreal, in Saint-Henri, Little Burgundy and Pointe-Saint-Charles, with the condo towers built in Griffintown since the 2010s. The plumbing problems are very different from one street to the next.
In the older homes it is cast-iron drains, roots and basement backups. In the new towers it is leaks between units and kitchen stacks. Tell the coordinator the type of building and the right contractor is sent.
Tell the coordinator what you see. The right contractor is matched to the problem.
One blockage can back up several units at once.
Original pipes crack, scale up and clog more often.
Water or sewage up through the floor drain after a storm.
Pipes in exterior walls and unheated sheds in deep cold.
Grease, hair and build-up cleared.
Water coming through the ceiling from the unit above.
Leaking tank or no hot water.
Find roots, cracks or a collapse before anyone digs.
Leave your number and describe the problem. Include your neighbourhood.
